If you’re visiting London, then you’ll know it’s the most popular tourist destination in the UK. I mean, duh, it’s the capital city of England and home to the Royal Family. But then, there are also other amazing places to see. The Warner Bros. Studio Tour and Madame Tussauds London to name two. There’s also a vast selection of eateries to choose from. Whether you’re looking for a quick brunch at a bar or an evening dinner at the variety of restaurants on offer. Here are five eateries I’d love to try when I’m back down south.
Hawksmoor: The perfect choice for meat lovers! Hawksmoor is an award-winning British Steakhouse and is known to be one of the best in the whole of the UK. It specialises in delivering the best high-end British steak. It is also popular for its mouth-watering British dry-aged T-bone, D rump and Porterhouse servings. Not into meat? Then, there’s the option of sustainably sourced seafood too! The prices are also pretty reasonable for the HUGE portion size you get. Plus, the incredibly designed interiors reflect old-age taverns complete with wooden tables and lamps – a total must-see!
Tandoor Chop House: The Tandoor Chop House is a great option for those who love Eastern dishes with a twist! This restaurant specialises in bringing together the elements of a North Indian Communal Eatery (tandoor ovens, Indian spices & marinades) combined with the essence of a classic British chop house (prime cuts of meat and a buzzing atmosphere). There’s a great choice on the menu with always something new to try. Just be aware; many of the dishes contain hot chillies, spices and herbs!
The Diner: This one’s an American chain restaurant with a fantastic interior designed to replicate a classic American diner! The menu is packed with traditional American diner-style meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So, whether you’re after a tasty hot dog, scrumptious buttermilk pancakes or succulent cheeseburger, you can be sure to find one here! There’s also the option to have a yummy milkshake or enjoy a flavoursome dessert. The best bit of all? They have a vegetarian menu too!
Duck and Waffle: Now this one’s a wonderful pick for someone who’s a fan of extraordinary views. Set on the 40th floor, this restaurant is one of a kind! The intimately designed interior is both welcoming and peaceful. It is also surrounded by large glass windows, so you can be sure to get a panoramic glimpse of the city! This restaurant would be a great option for a romantic night out. Especially with the variety of menu options and the thought put into the tableware.
The Barbary: Situated in Covent Garden, this casual restaurant is influenced by the Barbary Coast. Its menu is inspired by the “rich culinary traditions, exotic products, flavoursome spices and cooking techniques” from the countries of the Atlantic Coast. The small but exquisitely constructed menu focuses on high quality cuisines. This demonstrates the exceptional dedication given to the thought behind the brand. There are also daily changing specials alongside seasonal meals.
Until next time.
